Meet Our Puppies

About us

We are a hobby Cockapoo breeder located in rural Ottawa. Our puppies are raised in a family environment, and over the past five years we’ve had excellent results. Our breeding dogs receive personalized care, as we consider them part of our family. We do not ship our puppies. The new owners pick them up from our home in person. We keep in touch with the adoptive parents and are available to answers follow-up questions.

The puppies are examined and receive their first vaccines at the Village of Manotick Animal Hospital.

We are committed to following ethical breeding practices.

We breed different sizes of Cockapoo dogs:

F1 (first generation Cockapoos, 28-32 lb),

F1B (20-25 lb, from F1 Dam and a miniature poodle Sire)

F1B2 (12-18 lb, from F1B Dam and a smaller miniature poodle Sire)

Cockapoo dogs have genetic traits from both breeds: intelligence, willingness to please and to show off from the Poodle,

playfulness and gentleness from the Cocker Spaniel.

Some of Our Crew

Luna, a standard poodle, is a dedicated mother and a very gentle and loyal companion. It is a joy to walk with her on the trails in the nearby forest.

Atahualpa is an F1  (first generation) Cockapoo born in our home from Luna and Pluto's (black American Cocker Spaniel) first litter. At almost 5 years old she is still very playful even though she is now a loving mother.

Paco is a very active, playful and intelligent miniature poodle.

Alegria is Atahualpa and Paco's puppy. She is a Cockapoo with phantom markings and curly fur. She is now 3 years old and plays with her own puppies. Here she has received her summer hairstyle.

Rufus is a miniature poodle of Russian bloodline. Very intelligent, attentive, responsive, highly trainable and easy going. He has plenty of good qualities that his puppies could inherit.

A Relationship with a Dog

A relationship with dog is something truly special. We love our dogs and they offer us affection  unconditionally. Life with dogs has taught us to be more patient, more connected to nature and more grateful for God's creation. In many ways, a dog leads one back to a simpler life. It helps one return, even briefly, to innocence.

A Gentle Start for Every Puppy

At Return to Innocence, we believe every puppy deserves a compassionate beginning. Our caring approach ensures each pup is raised with love, comfort, and gentle guidance.

This is Gracia, Luna and Pluto's puppy. Now at 3 years old she is a proud mother of beautiful and vigorous puppies.

My husband and I spent quite a bit of time researching what type of dog we wanted to bring into our home. We wanted to work with someone who put in a lot of time and effort to properly take care of their animals. Ioana was extremely pleasant and friendly to work with. She answered every question we had, provided ample paperwork, and set us up for success with a care package for our new puppy, Eevee.

She has also made herself available to answer any questions we have while we transition our puppy to her new home - which is above and beyond. We can tell that she truly takes care of the puppies and parents, and even wants to see follow up pictures from us as Eevee grows up. Thank you for allowing us to welcome Eevee into our home.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ioana, and Sandy is truly the best dog I could have asked for. She is the sweetest, happiest pup and has been an absolute joy from day one. We even share a birthday, so we get to celebrate together!

Sandy has SUCH a personality — she loves the outdoors, is endlessly playful, and somehow also the cuddliest little thing. She’s a huge swimmer in the summer, obsessed with the snow in the winter, and is just so happy and playful, while also being the snuggliest chill dog!

It’s clear how much care, knowledge, and intention Ioana puts into every part of the process. She was communicative, ethical, and genuinely invested in placing their dogs in the right homes. I am endlessly grateful — Sandy has brought so much joy, love, and companionship into our family.

The brothers are incredibly affectionate with us, and with one another. They love to play, walk, and cuddle. Our pups love to run, have wonderful recall, play well with other dogs, and humans, and are more than happy to take a break to snuggle.

We couldn’t be happier these little guys. It’s no more work to care for two that it is for one, and we just have double the love and joy.

Ioana and her daughter were incredible to deal with and have kept in touch to see how the pups are doing.

I highly recommend Return to Innocence for anyone looking for a new bundle of joy to add to their families!

Molly

I've always been skeptic and extremely careful of dog breeders especially online but I must admit I was so impressed with Ioana (Return to Innocence) she greeted me wit a homecoming smile and so courteous and reassuring .

When I was introduced to my little girl Molly she was shy but a happy little girl , I noticed how well all the puppies were really well cared for in a nice calm family oriented environment .

I’m so blessed to have found Ioana and Molly , Molly in this short time of having her in our home is very smart easy to train and so sweet ,

You can tell she was raised from the start in an excellent environment filled with love and attention and all the healthy beginning .

The info Ioana provided us with before we brought Molly home was so useful in continuing the good care she provided Molly from the start.

We’re so thankful for our Molly she’s the best little sister to our Picasso .

I would strongly recommend Return to Innocence if you’re looking for a healthy, playful, smart and most of all loving companion.

Thanks so much Ioana for Molly we love her so ! If I’d have to rate this breeder for sure it would be a 10/10 !

Jack and Benny

January 2024, My husband and I purchased two pups from Return to Innocence after our 12 yr. old cockapoo passed away.  We did not like leaving our dog alone when we had to run errands so we knew we wanted a pair to keep each other company.  At first, it was challenging raising two puppies, (double puppy trouble - ha!) but with time things got easier and we couldn't be happier with our boys now.  Both are such sweet, loving dogs.  They are affectionate, playful, intelligent and always willing and waiting to please us.  Jack and Benny have a strong bond with each other but also with us. They spend their days running around our 2 acres, watching the chickens and chasing chipmunks.  They love chewing sticks, chasing leaves and playing tug or fetching the ball.  They do everything together.   If one is willing to put forth extra effort and patience to raise two together, just know that it is not only possible but very rewarding in the end.  Our boys had a good start with Ioana.  You can tell they were brought up lovingly and with the best care.  I would not hesitate to adopt a pup from her again in the future.

Are You Ready?

Before you contact us to inquire about adopting a puppy, please keep in mind the points below:

1. Financial commitment. Are you aware that the puppy will need a second and a third booster vaccines at 3 and 4 months of age, and to be neutered/spayed during their first year, all of which will cost at least $1200 (please inquire about the exact fees with your vet)?

2. Time Commitment. Does your work schedule allow you to take your puppy out of their playpen/crate/home  every 3-4 hours daily, at least during their first year?

3. Space Suitability. Do you have a fully fenced backyard where the puppy can play safely? If not, do you have a plan of where to take them for daily walks? In case you rent your home, do you have your landlord's written consent to bring a dog into the home?

4. Personal Commitment. A puppy learns the routine in your new home environment quickly if you spend time training them, by repeating the commands and then by rewarding them. Good care requires a positive attitude, gentleness,  and perseverance. Do you have the patience to train your puppy good behaviour? Have you consulted with everyone in your household? Is this the right timing for you to bring a new puppy home?

We hope that the questions above have helped you make the right decision.
